Simon White, also known as “The SEO Fire Fighter”,[3][4] is a digital marketer and search engine optimization (SEO) consultant based in Encinitas, California, in San Diego County.[1][2] He is a co-founder of the digital marketing agency Local Blitz, which states that it has served clients in San Diego and Indianapolis since 2009.[5][6] Before moving into marketing, White worked as an engineer and technical marketing manager for several wireless and telecommunications technology companies.[5] His more recent work, as described on his own websites, covers local SEO, answer engine optimization (AEO), generative engine optimization (GEO) and AI-assisted marketing.[7][8]

Early life and education

White was born in Liverpool, England, and is a British national.[2]

White’s about.me profile lists Chesterfield High School and Bradford University in the United Kingdom as his places of education.[9] His LinkedIn profile states that he holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in electrical engineering from Bradford University, England.[1]

Career

Technology industry

According to his biography on the Local Blitz website, White spent 17 years in the high-technology sector, working for Nokia Mobile Phones, Fujitsu, Hughes Network Systems, SiliconWave (a Bluetooth company later bought by Qualcomm), Innocomm Wireless (a Bluetooth and WiMAX/4G company acquired by National Semiconductor) and Quorum Systems (a 3G cellular company acquired by Spreadtrum Communications). He worked in both engineering and technical marketing management roles.[5] His LinkedIn profile adds that he worked in England, France and Asia, served as a senior technical marketing manager at Quorum Systems, and was the lead project manager and engineer at an early Bluetooth start-up.[1] One of his personal sites summarises him as an “ex electrical engineer turned technical SEO and Digital Marketing consultant”.[10]

The same Local Blitz biography states that White has owned a retail store with more than 14 employees, experience the agency cites as giving him an understanding of the problems small business owners face.[5]

White co-founded Local Blitz with Nick Bennett; the agency’s team page lists White as “Co-Founder/Google Organic and Paid advertising”.[5] His LinkedIn profile gives his role as co-founder of Local Blitz Marketing from January 2009, based in Encinitas, California,[1] and his X profile describes him as a co-founder of “a Digital Marketing Agency based in San Diego”.[11] Local Blitz describes its work as serving small and medium-sized businesses across the United States, along with several clients in the United Kingdom, and says its marketing methods are first tested on its own websites.[5]

SEO Fire Fighter

White markets search-recovery work under the name SEO Fire Fighter, through the websites seofirefighter.com and seofirefighter.uk, which present him as “Simon White, The SEO Fire Fighter”.[4][12] His personal site describes this strand of his work as “recovery work” for when “rankings or listings are on fire”.[3] The UK site describes services aimed at sites affected by search penalties, algorithm changes and sudden ranking drops, including technical SEO, content and link building.[12] The seofirefighter.com site title describes the brand as “Solving SEO Fire & Problems since 2009”.[4]

White’s current public profiles emphasise AI-driven search. His LinkedIn headline reads “Co-Founder Local Blitz | Digital and AI Marketing Systems | Real World Application of Generative AI”,[1] and his YouTube channel describes him as an “SEO, AEO & Digital Marketing Expert based in San Diego”, listing search engine optimization, answer engine optimization and generative engine optimization.[7] His site simonwhite.it.com is branded around SEO, AEO and GEO.[8]

Local Blitz’s localblitz.ing site presents SEO, AEO, GEO and LLMO (large language model optimization) as a single service aimed at visibility in Google, AI Overviews and assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, and describes a proprietary platform called the AEO System.[13] A separate Local Blitz AI site offers AI-enhanced marketing services.[14] On simon.bz, White publishes visual guides to “The AEO Process” and to which sources AI engines cite.[15] His site simonwhite.ai, titled “Simon White AI & Digital Marketing Expert”, offers a workbook from an “Automated Marketing Summit”.[16]

Web properties and media

White maintains a network of personal websites. His hub site, simonwhite.info, lists twelve of them under three themes: “Simon White SEO”, “Simon White AI” and “SEO Fire Fighter”.[3] A full list of verified links is on the Resources page.

In May 2021 a paid press release distributed by ACCESSWIRE, “Simon White SEO Discusses Role Of SEO In 2021”, described Simon White SEO as based in Encinitas, California, and quoted White on metrics for judging whether SEO is working, such as impressions, organic traffic, the number of ranking pages and backlinks, and conversions.[17]

Investing and other projects

White describes himself as a real estate and note investor on his X and YouTube profiles.[11][7] His project site simon.bz hosts free calculators for mortgage-note and real estate investors, a browser-based RF (radio-frequency) engineering design toolkit, an HP 10B financial calculator emulator and other reference tools, and links to IRA.RE, a site about holding real estate in self-directed retirement accounts.[15] On about.me he also describes himself as a koi keeper and dog owner.[9]
